Develop Don’t Displace

Campaign Design | Print Design | Social Media Design

Develop Don’t Displace is a social awareness campaign that is centered around the topic of gentrification in Black communities in Charlotte, NC, and how it can lead to the displacement of lower-income residents. Through this campaign, my goal is to shift attitudes and behaviors by informing locals about how community changes displace African American families in urban areas. It will also inform the residents in communities threatened by displacement on how to stay in their homes. The campaign will ask people to be considerate of historically Black neighborhoods. And hopefully encourage city leaders to put ordinances in place to protect these communities.

Throughout this campaign, I collected data through a survey and interviews with community members in affected communities to further understand their feelings about gentrification and how my campaign could have the most effective impact.
